Rob Plattel clearly sums it up as follows: It was particularly nature with all its diversified beauties, but also other designers and florists and country house-style designers who have influenced his designing style. As a child, he already used to collect little things he found on a Sunday walk and created tiny landscapes or gardens in a small box. After his initial experiences with floral creativity he got to knew all sorts of fashion styles and creative forms of expression of other designers, and finally developed his very own way of floral design: To create his aesthetic designs he uses blossoms, branches, seeds, driftwood and all the other natural elements, even if they seem unimportant at first sight.
Bleached materials and objects he found at the beach are combined to become graphical forms for modern homes. The diversity of flowered textiles inspires him to create a patchwork of images comprising floor-to-ceiling dimensions. In his designs, the transition from landscape architecture to the design of the interior is very fluent. In his latest book release, Natural Rhythms, Rob Plattel puts the rhythm of nature into the focus of his floral compositions. This book is full of natural aesthetics and inspirations written from a fascinating point of view on all greenery.
